About

Charles Alan Rye brings a rich background in live event production, festival environments, and lighting design to his emerging practice in interactive digital art. Partnering with Iryna Kanishcheva of Monochronicle, the artist team is exploring AI, sensors, generative rendering, and the intersection of art and technology. A new frontier in how art is made, displayed, and experienced is unfolding where the act of viewing an artwork alters the art itself. In this new landscape, it is now possible for direct dialogue between art and audience, transforming the viewing of art into an active, unique experience inviting the viewer to become co-creator in the work’s expression. The artist hopes that by blending expertise in visual design, storytelling, and technology, the team can create work that invites viewers to become active participants in this new digital art.

Watershed

This interactive video installation presents a dynamic wavescape, a visceral exploration of waveforms and shifting tides that respond directly to human presence. Inspired by the frequent, devastating floods plaguing South Florida, the piece translates the immediacy of climate impact into an experience of perpetual movement and transformation. The audience activates subtle yet profound disruptions within the wave patterns displayed. Each movement creates ripples that alter the flow, echoing the complex interdependence of humanity and nature.
